By bus
Chamonix has local bus transportation. The bus runs in the town as well as in the whole valley. There are bus stops at each of the lift areas. The bus usually runs from 7 am to 7:30 pm. There is also a night bus. If you have a Guest Card you can ride the local bus for free. For more information you should check the bus timetable.

In the resort there is a free shuttle service called “Les Mulets.” This service is available in high season, and the little buses run in the centre of the town approximately every 10 minutes. Because the little buses run only in the center of the town there are special stops where they connect with the Chamonix buses.
By car
You can also get around by car. There are several parking areas in the town. A few of the parking areas are free. These parking places are: the p arking near the train station, Le Corzolet, Rue Helbronner, l'Allée Recteur, Les Planards and Payot. There are several covered parking areas: Saint Michel which offers 330 places, Entreves Car Park offers about 150 places and Mont-Blanc which offers approximately 240 places. There are also 2 open air parking areas: Outa has about 60 places and The Grepon has 700 places. The covered parking places as well as the two open ones are open non stop and prices vary depending on how long you park as well as if it is day parking or night parking. There is also a possibility to get weekly parking. Most of the parking areas offer at least half an hour of free parking.
Other ways of getting around
If you get to Chamonix by plane you can also rent a car or use one of the available taxi companies. If you travel in group you can also rent a minibus. Or if you like walking, you can walk around the town center, thus having the opportunity to admire the architecture. The town centre is very busy especially during the summer.
By train
If you want to travel around the Chamonix valley you can also take the train. There are several trains that run in the valley every day. The Guest Card lets you ride on some routes for free. For more information about the free routes by train, check the Guest Card brochure that you receive with the card or ask at the train station if you need a ticket or not.
