There is a Musée Montagnard et Rural in Les Houches, a Musée de Barberine in Vallorcine, and a Musée du Haut Val d'Arly in Megève. Most of the museum will tell you a lot of interesting things about the Savoyards and their lifestyle, about the valley and its history, or the making of the cheese.

Several festivals and events are organized throughout the year, thus there will most probably be something going one while you are there. Depending on when you visit the resort you have the chance to see and even take part in some of the events organized like for example car racing on ice or slalom race.
